Broadway Plaza Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about the Broadway Plaza Hotel? It’s actually tucked into this sweet spot in NoMad where you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in Times Square chaos. I mean, you’re literally on Broadway – 1155 to be exact – but it’s the good part of Broadway where locals still walk around without that tourist shuffle.
The lobby has this understated elegance thing going on that I honestly wasn’t expecting from the street view. Not trying to be the flashiest place on the block, but there’s real attention to detail in the finishes. Check-in was smooth (always a relief in NYC), and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner spots. They pointed me toward some gem on 28th Street that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are what you’d hope for in a solid four-star – well-appointed without being stuffy, and the beds are legitimately comfortable. I’m picky about hotel beds, so that’s saying something. What really won me over was the noise situation – or lack thereof. You’d think being right on Broadway would mean garbage trucks at 5 AM, but the windows actually do their job. I slept better than I do at home, which is sort of embarrassing to admit.
Here’s the thing about this location that booking sites don’t really capture: you’re in this perfect triangle between Madison Square Park, the Flatiron District, and Midtown South. Coffee shops that aren’t Starbucks within a two-block radius, the subway situation is actually manageable (6 train at 28th is your friend), and you can walk to some seriously good food without the markup you get closer to the tourist zones. I found myself just wandering around in the evenings because the neighborhood has this energy without the overwhelming crowds. The hotel itself sits right in this mix of old New York architecture and newer developments, so you get that authentic city feel without feeling like you’re staying in a museum. Honestly, the 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, just doing the important stuff really well. If you’re the type who wants to experience New York like someone who actually lives here, rather than just checking boxes on a sightseeing list, this place gets it. The price point feels fair for what you’re getting, especially considering you’re not paying the Manhattan premium for a tiny room with a view of an air shaft.

The staff attention was great, great room, great location.
They were there for us every day, every minute, no doubt about itKerry from United States (9/10)
The staff was exemplary. They helped us get cabs, directions, even where to get Tylenol. parking garage around the corner on 28th st(6th ave address) only $35 a day with hotel stay. The gentlemen in the lobby were so friendly, professional and kind. The bed was super cozy. The location was ideal as we had plans uptown and down. We felt safe and well looked after. I loved our Christmas getaway and would certainly return to the Broadway Plaza.
