The whole NoMad area has become this perfect sweet spot where you’ve got amazing restaurants (Eleven Madison Park is literally around the corner, though good luck getting a reservation), but you’re also close enough to hop on the 6 train and be in SoHo in fifteen minutes. I mean, you’re basically equidistant from everywhere you actually want to go. The hotel doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of those massive chain places – no sprawling spa or multiple restaurants – but what it does have feels intentional and well-executed. The rating sits at 7.6, which honestly feels about right; it’s not perfect, but it’s got character and personality that those sterile five-star places sometimes lack. If you’re looking for a place that feels like New York without all the tourist trap nonsense, and you don’t mind paying Manhattan prices for the privilege, this is definitely worth considering.
