Crowne Plaza Princeton – Conference Center, an IHG Hotel Overview
First Impressions
The Crowne Plaza Princeton – Conference Center, an IHG Hotel sits right on Scudders Mill Road, and honestly, it’s one of those places that surprises you. From the outside, you might think it’s just another business hotel — but step inside and you’ll find something that feels more thoughtful than your typical corporate property. The lobby has this warm, welcoming vibe that immediately puts you at ease, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you.
Location & Getting Around
What I love about this spot in Princeton is how it strikes this perfect balance — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the campus chaos to actually relax. The university is just a short drive away, which makes it ideal if you’re visiting for graduation or checking out schools with your kids. There’s free parking right at the hotel, which honestly saves you a headache since finding a spot near downtown Princeton can be… well, let’s just say it’s not fun. Couples seem to really appreciate the location too — I can see why, since you’re positioned perfectly for romantic walks around the Princeton area without dealing with student crowds.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this four-star property really shines — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels where they promise comfort and deliver something that feels like a board, but these beds actually live up to the hype. The room itself is spacious and well-designed, with enough workspace if you need to get things done but cozy enough that you don’t feel like you’re camping out in an office. The bathrooms are clean and modern, and you know what? Sometimes it’s the little things like good water pressure and soft towels that make all the difference.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is actually impressive — they’ve got continental options, but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. It’s a proper buffet with American classics, so whether you want something light or need to fuel up for a big day exploring Princeton, you’re covered. The restaurant area has this comfortable, unhurried atmosphere where you can actually sit and plan your day without feeling rushed. I’ve noticed they really pay attention to dietary restrictions, which is refreshing.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most about this place is the repeat guest factor — people genuinely come back here, which says something about the experience. The staff remembers faces and preferences, creating that rare hotel feeling where you’re not just another reservation number. Recent guests consistently rave about the location, and after spending time here, I get it. You’re in Princeton but not overwhelmed by it, close to everything but with your own peaceful space to retreat to. It’s the kind of place where business travelers feel comfortable, families find it practical, and couples discover it’s actually quite romantic — not an easy balance to strike, but somehow they manage it.

Richard from United Kingdom (7/10)
The hotel was tired in appearance. I expected better from a Crowne Plaza. The absence of a restaurant for dinner was disappointing however offset by the excellent barman in the grille. The breakfast was below expectation and was at best limited.
Faidley from United States (8/10)
Location is lovely and secluded, with woods and a pond but convenient to downtown Princeton, shopping, restaurants, etc. Nice facility and amenities, nice bar/lounge area.
Stephanie from United States (7/10)
Easy to get there with a car but a bit outside of town. The infused water in the lobby was a lovely touch. Check in was easy and efficient. Really nice gym and indoor pool. There is also an indoor basketball court! There are conference solutions available – the conference dining on the riverfront is lovely.
