Comfort Inn Edgewater on Hudson River Overview
First Impressions
The Comfort Inn Edgewater on Hudson River sits right on River Road, and honestly, the location is what makes this place special. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Hudson River with Manhattan’s skyline spread out in front of you — it’s the kind of view that makes you stop and stare. The building itself is pretty standard for a three-star chain hotel, but once you see what’s outside your window, you sort of forget about everything else.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about Edgewater — you get those incredible city views without actually being in the chaos of Manhattan. The hotel offers parking right on site, which is huge if you’re driving (and free, no less). You’re close enough to hop over to the city when you want to, but far enough away that you can actually relax. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location a solid 9.0, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about watching the lights come on across the river as evening hits.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but definitely well-maintained. What really stood out were the beds — and apparently I’m not the only one who noticed. Guests consistently rave about how comfortable they are, and after a good night’s sleep, I’d have to agree. The river-facing rooms are worth requesting if you can get one. Waking up to that Manhattan skyline view? That’s not something you get at most hotels in this price range.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The continental breakfast is pretty standard fare — you know, pastries, coffee, some hot items — but it gets the job done. What I actually appreciated more was how many repeat guests this place has. You can tell when a hotel is doing something right because people keep coming back, and there’s definitely more of that here than at most properties. The staff seems to recognize regulars, which creates a nice, familiar atmosphere. This dedication to service keeps guests satisfied and eager to return.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a high-end resort, but it delivers exactly what it promises. Recent guests have rated the location at 8.9, and when you’re standing on the waterfront watching the sunset reflect off the Hudson, you understand why. It’s that sweet spot where you get amazing views and easy access to everything without paying Manhattan prices. The combination of free parking, comfortable beds, and that unbeatable river location makes it a solid choice — especially if you want to experience the New York area without diving headfirst into the urban intensity. The value proposition here is genuinely compelling for travelers seeking both comfort and convenience.
New York hotels keep adventurers close to gallery districts, speakeasies, and subway hubs.

The area the hotel was in was very nice. The bus stop was 2 short blocks away. The view from the front of the hotel was beautiful. The beds & pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The room was large & bright. The room was on the first floor & easy to access. When the bathroom became steamy after my shower, there was a clear spot in the middle of the mirror that didn't fog up. Sweet! You had decaf regular Lipton tea in the breakfast room. That's rare & much appreciated.
