But here’s what I really appreciated: you can actually walk to proper local spots like Smorgasburg on weekends, plus there are solid coffee shops and restaurants that aren’t just tourist traps within a few blocks. The couples rating this location so highly (9.1 apparently) makes total sense — it’s got that romantic Brooklyn energy without being too far from everything.

The Room Experience

The rooms at CODA Williamsburg keep that same industrial-meets-comfortable theme, and they actually pull it off well. Large windows let in plenty of natural light, which you definitely want in a Brooklyn hotel. The design is clean and uncluttered — think modern furniture with some nice touches like quality linens and decent lighting for actually reading or working. I mean, it’s not trying to be fancy for fancy’s sake, but everything feels thoughtfully chosen. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with good water pressure (always a relief in older NYC buildings, though this one’s obviously newer).

Getting Around

Here’s where the location really shines — you’ve got the Bedford Avenue L train stop pretty close by, which gets you into Manhattan in about 15 minutes. But honestly, you might find yourself wanting to stay in the neighborhood more than you expected. The waterfront is perfect for morning runs or evening walks, and there’s something nice about being able to duck back to your hotel between exploring different parts of Brooklyn. Plus, if you’re into the whole foodie scene, you’re positioned really well for hitting up the better restaurants without having to trek across the borough.

  Staff are SUPERB!!! They MAKE this place. Helpful, accommodating, always on hand, genuine, really great team. Quiet rooms, big beds, lovely linen, great location for park, pubs, food, subway.

  The reception was nice with tea and coffee facilities. Nice neighbourhood with a park across the road. Quiet and safe area. The staff were super friendly and helpful – nothing too much – gave great advice on where to eat, which way to walk to discover the area. The team are a credit to the venue.

  Now, a lot of people may pick The William Vale over Coda perhaps but – having stayed at both over a two week period – I would pick Coda. Far better business facilities (various spaces and areas,) a lobby you can actually wait in without feeling like you’re waiting at the doctors, and essentially the same location. Great team there, helped us out endlessly (shout out to Sim) and right off Bedford Ave. I’d put my team in the Coda again but not the WV.

  Great staff, when I asked for a place to store some leftovers they sent a fridge to my room. Comfy bed. Not the biggest room, but it's a New York hotel, I'm used to it. They also let me work from a hotel conference room for the day even after I'd checked out which was super convenient.
