Hotel Shocard Broadway, Times Square Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Shocard Broadway, Times Square feels like stepping into a classic New York story — you know, the kind where the building has character but doesn’t try too hard to impress you. This three-star spot sits right on West 41st Street, and honestly, the location is probably its biggest selling point. The lobby’s compact but welcoming, with that unmistakable energy you get when you’re literally in the heart of everything that makes New York buzz.
The Unbeatable Location
Here’s the thing about this hotel — couples absolutely love it here, giving the location a 9.1 rating, and I totally get why. You’re a two-minute walk from Times Square’s chaos, but far enough down 41st that you’re not dealing with the Elmo costume guys right outside your window. The theater district is right there, which means you can actually walk to shows instead of dealing with subway delays or expensive cabs. I mean, when you can roll out of bed and grab coffee before catching a matinee, that’s pretty much the New York dream right there.
The Room Experience
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star in Manhattan — they’re not huge (this is New York, after all), but they’re clean and functional. Each room has everything you actually need without the fancy extras that would double the price. The beds are comfortable enough after a long day of walking around the city, and the bathrooms are small but efficient. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re in one of the busiest neighborhoods on the planet.
Practical Perks
You know what’s refreshing? This place doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. There’s no fancy spa or rooftop bar with $20 cocktails, but there is a decent restaurant downstairs when you need a quick bite without venturing into the Times Square tourist traps. The staff actually knows the neighborhood well — they’ll point you toward the good pizza place around the corner or tell you which subway entrance to use during rush hour. These little touches matter more than you’d think when you’re trying to navigate the city.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the fanciest hotel in Manhattan, but it gets the fundamentals right. The 9.2 location score speaks for itself — you’re paying for prime real estate without the premium hotel prices. Couples seem to particularly appreciate how easy it makes exploring the city together, whether you’re catching a Broadway show, wandering through Central Park, or just soaking up the Times Square madness. It’s the kind of place where you spend your days out exploring and come back to a comfortable, no-nonsense base camp in the middle of it all.
Apartments in New York suit remote creatives with sunlit studios, editing bays, and co-working rooftops.

Location walking distance to the heart of Times Square was perfect. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was large and completely covered in penny tile. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Loved having a private rooftop balcony even though it was too cold to spend any time outside. The 2 photos were taken from balcony.

Location, cost, free taxi ride to hotel from Newark Airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Received free drink tickets for each night of stay. Room was quiet & we slept well. Felt safe. Very close to food, attractions, and subway.

I was surprised at how small my room was and was hesitant at first. I figured it was just a place to rest my head but I ended up sleeping like a baby and enjoyed my stay. The bathroom was also smaller but was remodeled and nice. I had wonderful service from the staff members. The front desk helped me so much during my stay and were eager to do so. I never made it to the bar on the first floor but I wish I would have. It seemed like a great local place to check out.
