So I stayed at Sixty LES last month, and honestly? It’s one of those places that gets the Lower East Side thing right without trying too hard. The moment you walk in, you realize this isn’t your typical boutique hotel – there’s this sort of industrial-chic vibe that actually fits the neighborhood instead of fighting against it. The lobby has these exposed brick walls and moody lighting that somehow manages to feel both edgy and welcoming at the same time.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to capture that authentic LES energy without making it feel like a theme park version of cool. I mean, you’re right on Allen Street, which can get pretty lively (read: slightly noisy) on weekend nights, but that’s honestly part of the charm. You’re a two-minute walk from some of the best late-night spots in the city – Katz’s Deli is practically around the corner, and if you know anything about the area, you know that’s gold. The staff actually seems to get this too; they’re not just reciting tourist recommendations but giving you real insights about which speakeasies are worth the wait and which ones are just hype.

The rooms themselves are thoughtfully designed – not huge by Manhattan standards, but they use the space well. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have this nice modern feel without being sterile. Here’s something most reviews won’t tell you: the elevators can be a bit slow during busy periods, but honestly, it’s not a dealbreaker. What I appreciated was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living there for a few days – good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually work, and outlets in sensible places. The 7.8 rating feels about right; it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. You’re paying for the location and the vibe, and both are solid. If you’re looking for a pool and room service, look elsewhere. But if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere that gets the pulse of downtown Manhattan – somewhere you can stumble back to after exploring the best of what the Lower East Side has to offer – this place actually delivers.

  Great location, cool hotel, the room was more than adequate. Complimentary coffee and tea every morning in the lobby downstairs was greatly appreciated. And the view of the skyline was gorgeous.
