70 Park Avenue Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about the 70 Park Avenue Hotel? It’s this perfectly sized place that doesn’t try to overwhelm you with marble lobbies or intimidate you with white-glove service. Walking in from the Murray Hill sidewalk, there’s something immediately comfortable about it – maybe it’s the boutique scale or how the staff actually makes eye contact instead of looking through you like you’re invisible.
The location is honestly brilliant if you know Manhattan at all. Murray Hill gets overlooked by tourists who think they need to be in Times Square (trust me, you don’t), but you’re literally a five-minute walk to Grand Central, which means you can hop on the 6 train and be at Union Square in minutes, or grab Metro-North if you need to escape the city. I mean, Lexington Avenue is right there with all the usual suspects – delis, drugstores, that reliable urban ecosystem that makes New York work. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel during the day with office workers grabbing lunch, but it actually quiets down at night, which is rare for Midtown. You won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM.
What I really appreciate is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between personality and professionalism. The rooms aren’t huge – this is New York, after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with enough space to actually unpack your suitcase (revolutionary concept, I know). The beds are legitimately comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which honestly matters more than thread count when you’re dealing with subway grime. They’ve got this subtle Art Deco influence throughout that feels authentic to the building rather than slapped on by some design committee. The whole place has an 8.4 rating, and I get it – it’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in the city, but everything just works properly. Check-in was smooth, the elevators don’t take forever, and the wifi actually reaches every corner of the room. Those details matter when you’re trying to get work done or just want to collapse after walking fifteen miles around the city. It’s the kind of place where you’d bring your parents when they visit, or where you’d stay for a work trip without feeling like you’re either slumming it or blowing the entire budget on location alone.

Reviews of 70 Park Avenue Hotel
Patricia from Canada (9/10)
Our stay at the hotel was lovely. Front desk staff were so warm and very helpful. A misunderstanding resulted in our booking being cancelled without our knowledge. But when we arrived the situation was handled with kindness and grace. We were quickly given an upgrade to a King room, offered a complementary bottle of wine. The room itself was spacious, well appointed, and the bed very comfortable. And the location is just great.

Location was great and easy to walk to Grand Central Station and around Midtown. It was nice to have a gym in the basement. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and it wasn't too noisy for being central.

The property is on a fabulous location with good size rooms and storage. We found the room facilities to be good and actually a very quiet place to stay in the evenings.

Recently modernised and comfortable. The only problem was sound proofing between rooms…. or ours, at least.
